StyleCeleb Fashion Fans, this is the beginning of the Tech and Fashion Marriage. Soon fashionistas will be wearing tech inspired and functioning clothing thanks to a deal inked between the CFDA and Intel.
Intel Corp. is making an effort in the wearable tech realm. The computer giant is partnering up with the CFDA, Barneys New York, and Opening Ceremony to launch a coterie of items that are simultaneously stylish and tech-driven. The partnership between Intel and the two retailers is a short-term commitment, but the CFDA has agreed to the pairing for a longer amount of time. Through this agreement, the duo will match up high-tech developers with over 400 designers to create cutting-edge products that straddle the line between high fashion and hardware.
The first item to surface from the collaboration will be an Intel bracelet, designed in conjunction with Opening Ceremony, which will be sold at Barneys. While further details haven’t been disclosed yet, expect the bauble to feature smart technology and a chic look. Why did the CFDA decide to get involved with Intel? “[Our] commitments are to drive innovation in the fashion industry and we believe technology will need to be part of the industry’s DNA. The two together will be a powerful combination,” explained the council’s CEO, Steven Kolb. Seems like CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg is already embracing the mingling of tech and fashion, considering she outfitted her mods in Google Glass during her Spring 2013 runway show. Perhaps those Intel bracelets will get their catwalk moment in upcoming seasons, non?

Hi StyleCeleb fans, New York Fashion week is fast approaching and change is blowing in the wind. Big name designers are leaving Lincoln Center. The latest defectors are Diane Von Furstenberg, Michael Kors and Vera Wang.
As noted in Haute Living
Don’t expect to see Diane von Furstenberg and Michael Kors at Lincoln Center come Fashion Week. According to new reports, the luxury designers plan to show their new collections at Spring Studios at 50 Varick Street in TriBeCa.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, DVF will be showing at Spring Studios on Feb. 9 at 5 p.m., while Kors will present there on Feb. 12 at 10 a.m.
Though there’s no official word as to why the designers decided to change their runway venue, it seems that other high-end designers are following suit. Vera Wang has also confirmed that she will be leaving Lincoln Center and showing at the Dia Center for the Arts in Chelsea on Feb. 11 at 11 a.m.

Finally, IMG has realized that NY Fashion Week is an exclusive event, not one to be open to anyone who registers. For years, NYFW was held at Bryant Park, it was an exclusive invite only event. You had to be a known entity in the fashion industry to be invited and granted access. Since the move to Lincoln Center, the vibe changed and more “”non” fashion types or what we like to call “posers” were able to get access. To the point were people with iPhones were getting spots on the photo riser to cover a show. Yeah!! IMG, you listened, we are SOOOO happy!!!
more from the IMG press release:
…”to provide more creative and versatile environments with contemporary aesthetics. The redesigned venue offerings will enable designers to better control and reduce audience capacities, making invitations once again an exclusive pass for true fashion insiders.
As well, as a result of the industry’s sophisticated and engaging use of digital media, designers now have the ability to provide real time viewing to a worldwide audience during the Event when all eyes are on New York. The MBFW Digital District is a new digital platform that will provide designers innovative options to better engage consumers. The MBFW broadcast reaches millions of viewers in over 173 countries each season.”
NYFW Fall Collections will be held February 6-13, 2014. StyleCeleb will be there Front Row as usual.

Flaunt Magazine hosted its Art Basel Miami opening group show entitled “Affordable Care” with a special performance art installation by Artist Vanessa Beecroft. The group show included works by Ben Jones, Melanie Pullen, David LaChapelle, Rob Montgomery, Petra Cortright, Vance Lorenzini, Yung Jake, Jeanette Hayes,Mary Ellen Mark, Bert Stern, Hunter and Gatti. The event was touted as a special Vanessa Beecroft, Kanye West collaboration. The Mana Wynwood warehouse was packed with loads of fans in anticipation of Kanye West’s arrival. Vanessa’s art installation was delayed for over an hour with Kanye as a no show. StyleCeleb was disappointed with the Kanye no show, but Art Basel is about Art and Flaunt curated an interesting collection complete with the Vanessa Beecroft live installation.

Color, Color, Color the trend for fashion, home, accessories and of course eyewear. Are you amazed at the fantastic eyewear you see on Italian and Japanese tourists? Yes, they do have the best eyewear choices. StyleCeleb is always looking for great style and quality at a lower price. We found LeGre eyewear http://www.legre.com, an eyewear line created in 2002 by two New York City licensed opticians, Lenny Rabich and Gregory Meyliker. They did in the most colorful way incorporating matte finishes, color fades, buffalo horn, tortoise with smooth color choices. Styles that fit all fashionista beauties.
